Hello!
I’m Pia, a visual designer that is a blend of creativity and empathy. My journey has taken me from Croatia to Slovenia, where I completed my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in graphic and interactive communications at the University of Ljubljana. Moving to a new country, learning Slovenian, and diving deep into digital design was an adventure that taught me resilience and broadened my perspective. Now, I’m continuing that journey in Amsterdam, embracing a new culture and learning Dutch along the way.

Growing up in a family of artists—my mom’s a stained glass artist and my dad a photographer—creativity has always been in my DNA. As a child, I attended animation school, which first sparked my passion for design. Fast forward, and I’ve channeled that passion into a full-time role as a UX/UI designer at Hisense Europe, with more than two years of professional experience under my belt.
Working with blind individuals to create tactile graphics taught me the profound impact of empathy in design. It’s the heart of my approach—understanding the user’s perspective, focusing on meaningful experiences, and designing visuals that resonate on a deeper level. Whether brainstorming with a team, crafting brand identities, or developing intuitive visual solutions, I’m dedicated to creating designs that connect.
In my free time, you’ll find me sculpting clay, exploring museums, and skiing (a lifelong love, thanks to my dad). I have two adorable Maltese dogs (back in Croatia), and though I’m a dog person, cats have somehow adopted me as their honorary favorite—a title I happily accept. Sundays? Bottomless brunch and tending to my plants, of course.
For me, visual design is a perfect blend of helping people, solving creative challenges, and crafting something beautiful and impactful. I’m grateful to have found a career that brings so much joy.
